Event: “Healing Starts With Us” in Harlem

The Stay Strong Foundation presents the “Healing Starts With Us” National campaign kick-off. Terrie M. Williams and featured guests:  Academy Award® nominee Ruby Dee, John Amos, Mo’Nique, Terry McMillan, HBO’s The Wire, Jamie Hector and Felicia “Snoop” Pearson and Rev. Al Sharpton… join forces to provide a support network that encourages open dialogue about emotional distress within the community. Academy Award® winner Denzel Washington will also pay special tribute to Malcolm X.  The staged event is being moderated by Susan L. Taylor, editor emeritus of ESSENCE Magazine and Geoffrey Canada, educator and founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone. Tuesday, March 18, 2008  6-8 pm. The Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center, (formerly The Audubon Ballroom), 3940 Broadway (between 165th & 166th Street). New York, NY 10032.
