Salters Scene: Fashion For A Cause

The folks behind the ubiquitous free AMNY newspaper, teamed up with Reality Cares on Wednesday night to produce the AMNY Reality Runway show.  Contestants from different reality TV shows came together to help raise funds for Reality Cares and Dress for

Among these TV competitors were Harlem resident Robert Smith (I Want to work for Diddy),  Jainmy Martinez (Viva Hollywood) Ryan Kehoe (Real World Road Rules), Heidi Bressler (The Apprentice),  Beth Joy and her dog Bella Starlet (Greatest American Dog), Marshana Ritchie (The Bachelor: London Calling), Dave Kerpen (Paradise Hotel), Paula Meronek aka Paula Walnuts (The Real World: Key West), Johanna Botta (Real World: Austin),…

…George “Tailor Made” Weisgerber (I Love New York 2), Kayla Peterson (Bowling Beauties), Kenny Santucci (Real World Road Rules Challenge), Johanna Botta (Real World: Austin),  Ken Stafford (Survivor: Thailand) and spinnin on the one’s and two’s Shandi Sullivan (America’s Next Top Model) (she was rocking wax no CDs for this DJ).

A very fun night, in hip downtown spot BLVD (199 Bowery).  There was an auction, after the attendees watched the fashion show with designs from Malan Breton of Bravo TV’s The Malan Show and  Indashio of Project Runway (who was in the house with two of his own special models) and jewelry from celebrity jewelry designer Lia Sophia.  Guests were allowed to bid on the clothing and for a date lasting the remainder of the evening with the models who were in the show.  Things got heated when a bidding war ensued over Johanna Botta (Real World: Austin): a gentleman smoothly dressed in the back and a woman fashionably dressed on the side.  The winning bid? $860 to the gentleman in the back!  However, the highest bid of the evening was for Marshana Ritchie (The Bachelor: London Calling): $1,000.

Definitely a nice way to kick off fashion week: good fashion and good party for a good cause.
