Were They Separated At Birth?

Education

From BWOG.net site

It’s been said that everyone has a doppelganger, but up till now, that’s just been a quaint piece of folklore. Startling administrator photos discovered by Bwog this week may force us to reconsider, though. Is this the product of mere coincidence or are our twins really out there? Take a look at the comparisons and decide for yourself.

Morgenthau, 5 Decades And Resting

Politics

morgan1Robert M. Morgenthau projected the image of the aristocratic prosecutor, an unflappable, even shy sort. But his ambition and reach had a boundless and very New York feel to it, as he launched international investigations and pursued white-collar miscreants, stock manipulators and Mafia dons with equal fervor.

Mr. Morgenthau’s power, accumulated over five decades as a federal and city prosecutor, was considerable, as was his political acumen. He could defend his territory fiercely, and he recognized the value of a political bloodline, hiring an Andrew M. Cuomo here, a John F. Kennedy Jr. there. A liberal Democratic lion, he never once sought the death penalty; and yet the city’s most confrontational mayors, Edward I. Koch and Rudolph W. Giuliani, hesitated to slash at him.

MarchMadness At Hue-Man Books

Books
time1
Hue-Man is always looking to bring great authors to our community as a part of the Hue-Man Experience.  When we get an author who also represents a person whose  extraordinary achievements can serve as a role model to our community, we get very excited.  March 29th Hue-Man is enormously proud to bring to Harlem Dr. Keith Black.  Dr. Black will join Dr. Sujay’s at the Halrem Hallelujah Service at 11AM.
Dr. Black has had a keen interest in science since childhood. At age 17, he published his first scientific paper, which earned a Westinghouse Science Award. I was at the University of Michigan when a young student, who was to be the youngest member of his matriculating class arrived.  He was admitted as an interflex student (which means he came directly to Medical School from high school) and completed an accelerated college program earning both his undergraduate and medical degrees in six years.
Not only was he a brainiack, he was a pilot at age 16 and had the nerve to be cute….Anyway fast forward and Dr. Black is a world renowned Neurosurgeon whose research has earned him the title Hero of Medicine…Please join us to celebrate and recognize his achievements and bring your children so that  we can proudly say to our children…see that guy…you too can be just like him.

Harlem Retail Renissance

Retail

*Feb 24 - 00:05*More than anywhere else in New York City, the retail mix in Harlem matches its history and culture. Stores and boutiques selling arts, music and personal style attract people of Caribbean, African, African-American and Latino descent, among others from all over the world. Street vendors selling body scents, African literature and President Obama hats, speeches set to soul songs, and coffee mugs are as much a part of local life as harmony at the Apollo Theatre and soul food at Sylvia’s Restaurant. TV One Vs Urban TV

Media

Black Entertainment Television founder Robert Johnson Thursday expressed “disappointment” with a recent TV One Federal Communications Commission filing in opposition of Johnson’s bid to launch an upstart, urban-targeted network.

In a letter to TV One chairman Alfred Liggins, Johnson said he was “disappointed and puzzled” as to TV One’s Feb. 19 FCC filing that opposes digital must-carry for networks such as Johnson’s Urban Television, LLC network. Johnson, along with Ion Media Networks, is petitioning the FCC to grant Urban TV must-carry status under “share time” licenses. Continue reading

Coen Brothers’ Harlem Release

Green

Dear Harlemite,

When it comes to making cutting edge films like “Fargo,” “No Country for Old Men,” and “The Big Lebowski,” Joel and Ethan Coen are the real deal. Now, they’ve got one more title on that impressive list.

“Air Freshener” is directed by the Coen brothers, and we’re proud to say it’s Reality’s latest ad — calling out the coal industry’s ridiculous claims that coal is clean as only the Coen brothers can. Watch it now:

A lot has happened since we launched the Reality Campaign to call out the coal industry for their dirty lies. Continue reading
