Bronx Dentists recruit Medicaid patients in Harlem

William FarringtonTOOTH SQUAD: One of several hawkers in Harlem last week lures Medicaid clients to a van before taking them to a clinic in The Bronx .Dentists are using hawkers on the streets of Harlem to lure Medicaid cardholders to their clinics with promises of cash, The Post has learned.

The practice is illegal and often a sign of fraud, according to the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General, which oversees the state’s cash-strapped public insurance fund. Continue reading

E. Harlem housing complex bought for $52M

Lexington Courts, a nine-building East Harlem apartment complex, was recently purchased for $52 million, according to new owner Pacific Housing Advisors, which plans to formally announce the details of the transaction later this week.
