A 17 year old man was shot by uniformed police after they heard gun shots and saw him with a firearm early Monday morning in East Harlem.
The Memorial Day shooting happened at 1:30 a.m., inside a housing complex located at 60 East 135th Street, where cops were responding to a call on shot fired.When they arrived, they heard more shots fired. Police then encountered the suspected gunman, who was armed with a firearm. Cops disarmed him by shotting him in the arm.
The suspect was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition and in police custody.
The suspect’s weapon has yet to be recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
