Want A Better Harlem, Form A Block Association (video) – Update

We all dream of a wonderful, fantastic, historical Harlem, the nightmare in that dream are the ongoing shootings, stabbings, robberies, etc.,. How do we move closer to that dream? One answer is to take on some of these issues ourselves (like the Harlem Children’s Zone) block by block by forming neighborhood block association in Harlem. What is a block association, a block association is a formal group consisting of people who live on the same block.

Harlem Storefronts Facade Collapse, No One Hurt

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the facade of a number of Harlem storefronts to collapse.

 It happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at 126th Street and 7th Avenue (on the uptown side of the street). The FDNY says six store facades were compromised.

Man stabbed to death in fight following 114th St. Family Day

A man was stabbed to death in a fight following Summer Family Day on 114th St. between FDB and 7th. As usual, no-one saw what happened. The police were there earlier in the day to make sure there were no illegal ring toss games or three-legged races going on – but apparently did not stick around to keep anyone actually safe when the sun went down.
