Abyssinian Baptist Church Celebrates

A festive white-tie gala for the 200th anniversary of the famed Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem last night also turned into a victory celebration for President-elect Barack Obama.
“We celebrate tonight 200 years of great tradition – the church has always been the center of political activity,” said 20-year pastor Dr. Calvin Butts III.
